Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice- As bad as kryptonite is for Superman

Besides the constant headache I got while watching the 3D film, I also understood why critics aren’t raving over the film and why fans are.
I won’t be giving way heavy spoilers or the ending, just enough for me to validate why the film was okay… but not great. First of all I don’t understand why it was so hard for Snyder to put the “s” in Vs. The film promises the big showdown between two popular culture’s most beloved characters- Batman and Superman much like Ronda Rousey and Holly Holm.
Yeah…that fight was a huge surprise. Just like Dawn of Justice was.
The film’s narrative was not that great. The film follows the events of Man of Steel where the Metropolis became a zone of massive destruction. Bruce Wayne thinks Superman needs to be under control. He believes a man with unlimited power like Superman is dangerous. The guy did kill people while attacking General Zod just to protect Louis Lane.
Does anyone find Louis so annoying? In all the Superman films even Smallville I could stand Louis Lane but if I could choose one. I would choose Amy Adams’ Louis Lane.
The only character who gripped my attention was Lex Luthor. It has nothing to do with my obsession of Jesse Eisenberg. Nothing at all. Does anyone even know what Lex Luthor’s true agenda is? I mean that was putting such a good performance I nearly confused with The Joker. With that aside, Gal Gardot’s Wonder Woman really kept this film hanging from her lasso. Wonder woman’s story really slows down the pace and I love the mystery around her. Her appearance alone when she finally appears and kick some butt got the audience cheering. Lets hope the Wonder Woman film won’t be as disappointing as Dawn of Justice. So Wayne thinks Superman deserves justice for the destruction and deaths for Metropolis. Don’t you think Gotham deserves the same? Clark Kent on the other hand has a problem with Batman’s vigilante justice in Gotham. Basically, the film is about two boys fighting each other while the psychotic rich boy causes more conflict and the warrior woman has to step in to re-direct everyone’s focus on Doomsday the real villain that is turning Metropolis into ashes.
I’ll just drink my tea.
This is film took a giant leap in one single bound that even Superman can do. Okay, maybe he can but that is not the point. This is film so ready to release Justice League that could have just come up straight after the credits all in the name of competing with Marvel’s Avengers. One of the things I did love was the action sequences Snyder nailed just like Bay in Transformers. Now if that was a compliment or insult you decide.
This film had so many heavy themes that I don’t even think the writers themselves could keep up with it. Should a powerful alien be let loose and do whatever he wants? Should two superheroes’ mothers have the same name?
The two superheroes put their differences aside when they realise they could be brothers with their mothers being Martha. I mean they could have just phoned each other or check each other’s Facebook page. Take a page from Luthor, dude. How do you think he could find all the other superheroes and get Snyder to jam pack them in this film?
Now if you wondering what I actually did love about this film. Well, the score. Honestly Han Zimmer is composing my wedding song. Musical genius but only if the story was a good as Nolan’s Batman. Nolan really knew how to put Zimmer to work. The first half-hour of was good. Reminding me of James Bond film with the fancy events, Bruce suits and Wonder Woman’s evening dresses. The story looked it was going somehow real important but it just went to Granny’s Peach tea bucket.
Even Bruce went to sleep.
The film went chaotic during Bruce’s dream action sequence about the future. Ironically, Batman and Superman destroys the city which is the exact why Batman was upset with Superman in the beginning. Which is what ultimately lead to their fight. But Snyder gives a poor excuse as to why this fight scene between the two is okay. It is after hours and hardly anyway is in the city centre. I’m pretty sure I saw a lot of people and news reporters covering the strange power surges coming from the alien ship. Oh, I forgot to mention the inhabited island that was destroyed. I won’t lie this film did keep entertain but with its action sequences, story not so much. Then again a fanboy makes a film for himself and other fans. So did JJ Abrams but I don’t see any complaining about Star Wars VII. I think what was missing was the “s” in Vs.
C’mon Snyder. You are going to make lose a lot of friends and family members with this review if you don’t give me anything nice to say.
I can only comment Gardot’s Wonder Woman performance and Adams does not deserve to be saved by Superman every time. Amy Adams is better than that. Snyder does have a small bit of humour that he only added in the end. With Bruce Wayne saying “We can do better. We have too.”
Yes you can Zack Snyder.
The Scripture says.
